How To Fix Registry Errors On Your Computer
posted October 29, 2009 - 9:31amComputers that run using windows are reliant on the windows registry system. This registry changes every time you install, delete programs or change system settings.
Unfortunately, over time, the windows registry will look for outdated files and redundant info and save them, thus, making the computer performance go down.< p>
That is when you are required to fix registry errors, because if you don’t, the windows registry will create various software errors that in turn will make the system to stop and break down. Furthermore, you might have other errors such as the dreaded blue screen of death.
You should be aware of such problems from the outset and not just assume that registry errors only happen in older computers, say, ones that are a couple of years old. This is not the case at all. The windows registry can become out of sync the first time you use a computer should you make changes to the system and the registry be interrupted or cut off whilst it is accounting for them
There are too many problems that occur from registry errors to list in full here, but the most common ones to look out for include:
- The computer running slower and often freezes, with some applications taking forever to upload
- The dreaded blue screen
- Computer constantly crashes
- The popping up of error messages that are unrelated to the application that you are using
If you are having the above mentioned problems, then you probably have a serious problem in the computer registry and it needs to be fixed as quickly as possible before the system collapses, if it hasn’t done so already.
Fixing registry errors manually is a cost effective way to solve the problems on your computer, as it only costs time. However, it’s not always the best option, as it involves a high risk of failure, even if you know what you are doing.
If you decide that you want to take the manual appriach to fixing registry errors, then the way to get started is to select “Run” from the start menu. You will then need to select “Regedit”. It is advisable to not just jump in and start making changes though. You should check out some guides and forums to learn what you should do. By unintentionally creating further errors in the registry, you may end up putting your computer beyond repair; well, without re-installing windows anyway..
A safer alternative to manually fixing registry errors is to use a registry repair program to do it automatically for you. They are really simple to use. If you can operate a mouse, then you can certainly run a scan and repair the computer back to its maximum performance.
