How to Get on Page One of Xomba in 2 Months - Self Congratulations

Self congratulations suck but hey? I have mixed feeling about finally making page one – it has taken me and several egos… hang on, let me see…2 months. I know, this is remarkably quick – hang on while I pat myself on the back – but I can explain… up to a point – I am a self confessed Xomba addict. Now, before a poem I have penned in homage to DeDom, I want to give mentions to a couple of outstanding egos…

Thanks to Wilma Proops – the Comedy Agony Aunt from Liverpool kept popular by her frank advice (particularly on all matters of a personal sexual nature) and for her works on Astrology, supplying insights (nowhere else available), gained by her study of the ONLY remaining text of the ancient Greek Astrologer, Enigmata of Sparta. (For more information about Wilma read http://hubpages.com/hub/Who-Just-is-this-Wilma-Proops---Agony-Aunt-to-the-Stars

Particular thanks go to Dick Pringle, the new chef on the celebrity block, millionaire and entrepreneur, who not only gives freely of his delicious foody suggestions – Masala Dosa, Sag Aloo et al – but also of the occasional recipe inspired by his fusion recipes. As I write this I have a pan of Maris Piper on the par boil, ready for their roasting before I marry them with Dick’s sauce to make his Fusion Bombay Potatoes. Yum – yum. Thanks to me for giving them their distinct voices.

Now, before my DeDom poem, a few words about the future plans of AndAnotherThing2. For the next few weeks I will be turning my attention to another writing project.

Some time ago, dear reader, a pitch of mine was accepted by a most important producer and he has finally got back to me with notes re its Scene X Scene – things are moving on. I should have worked on it last week but my Xomba addiction, fuelled by an overpowering desire to make page one got the better of me and offered excellent displacement activity. Don’t cry too much, reader, but this means I will be posting less Xombytes for the foreseeable future. This is partly due to my backlog (sounds painful I know) being almost cleared; partly because I should be working on something that could change my life and partly because I’m trying to emulate DeDom (poem below) and switching to Xomblurbs. Which reminds me, my poem in homage to DeDom.

In Homage to DeDom

In every field there’s always One
On Xomba that’s DeDom
On Triond it is someone else
Her name is Xanadu Felts
I don’t like her but
DeDom is cool…
But does he take me for a fool?
I’ve read some of his stuff
And he expects me
To believe he’s only twenty three*

* not the age quoted on DeDom's profile but dictated by poetic licence. This poem is meant as a compliment to DeDom. Its deep meaning that might be hidden under its sophisticated style is one of admiration of DeDom for his knowledge and generosity in sharing it. This poem is meant as an insult to Xanadu Felts (not her real name) who is a right miserable *** and wouldn't share the world.

Proud to Be One of the Some Some, Commenting on Your Passing ...

... passing ... from one stage of life to another. It's sort of like a 'graduation,' but without the distraction of ceremony. Like when one 'graduates, you're going from Imaginary-in-the-Imaginary to Imaginary-in-the-Real. Quit while you are ahead Bud! Calm down, chill out - have you tried singing hymns (just a suggestion) works for a comedy character I created and could work for you too.

Is there a prize

for saying 'tee hee' the most times in one day? You've got a good shot at winning it!

Congratulations you too

By some miracle it will change. Congratulations on all of your errors (original and copied)- I will not list them here. Is there a prize for petty points about quick comments? Allow me to nominate you should one be offered TEE HEE

Congratulations

on being the only post to the have unique keyword "How tp Xomba"!

There's still a poem

The tee hee, although not an established method, indicates a titter, a tongue in cheek, giggle of a comment. You are probably not envious but this matter seems very important to you. Far be it for me to suggest more offensive material to receive your attention so I won't. I will not change its category from poetry as it contains a truly wonderful poem. TEE HEE

Envy

Not envy at all... this post is clearly about Xomba, not about writing in general. There have been many good posts that have to do with Xomba that got lots of votes, but they were ineligible for Highest Rated because of their subject matter.

Popularity Votes

And another thing too, it did make the most popular list earlier today and one more vote will put it there again.

Envy is an Unattractive Quality - tee hee

Disagree Bud! Many articles cross the boundaries - especially those of our experienced and multi-knowledgeable peers. This is about writing, it includes a poem (highly accomplished) and it is about Xomba - I don't do poems (apart from for children and in homage to Roald Dahl see - so I plumped for poetry.
