Hello! Recently i began to design my first website and what was the hardest part about the whole process? Is getting people to come to your website! It was so frustrating getting maybe 40 people a day at max. So how can you get people to come to your website you ask?

Well first off you need to submit your website to Google and yahoo, 77% of people use Google so you must have your site submitted there first including your text site map. It will take a few days before you are actually showing up in the search engines so do not worry the first day!

Now that you have done that you need to start gathering back links and joining social networking sites such as MySpace and tell people what your website is about and how it can help them. Creating backlinks is very hard to do but well worth the effort. Go to Google and type in keywords that is related to your website somehow. Next contact these websites and tell them you would like to exchange back links with them and also include why it would have you potentially. You have to actually put their link on your site or they will just take you off theirs!

A good back link list is around 100 or more so it will take some time it wont happen over night.

Make sure your keywords are accurate and not complicated. There are programs out there that you can buy that will list keywords related to your website that people do not use hardly which gives you a higher page rank because obviously people do not use those keywords.

If you do not have good content and you have seen the content on the web before no one will go to your site, you have to have good quality content for people to keep coming back!
If you have products that no one wants guess what? They wont come back so take some time and make sure your products are worthy of money ;d

Next, Youtube! if you do not have a youtube account create one! over 40 million users visit youtube every day! If you are not promoting your website threw youtube you are missing a lot of worthy customers. Create a appealing video that will catch someones eyes. Use a catchy title for the video and advertise your video in other websites!

Another great way to drive people to your website is Google adwords. If you go to Google you will see google adwords on the right side when you look up something. Also in Google adwords you have publisher's (Adsense) who put your ads in their website to earn money. If you want people to come to your website sign up for Google adwords it does cost money but not much. You can pay 5-10 cents per click if you want. Your ads will be listed on peoples sites containing content like your and on the Google search engine itself! I would recommend look into this just sign up for a Google account and go to Adwords and look around well worth your money.

last thing i want to talk to you about is traffic exchange. Traffic exchange such as www.trafficg.com is somewhat worthy it gets people to come to your website. The only disadvantage to doing sites like above is that usually they click right off the page. Usually 1 out of 50 people coming from those sites will actually stay and look around if your homepage catches their eye.
