How to Graduate on a Budget

How to Graduate on a Budget

- If you are not sure what your major is going to be, do an Associate's in General Studies first. You could do this at a Community College - you should check the list of schools your credits will transfer to first.

- Take CLEP or DANTE (for military students) exams. Basically, they test your knowledge of a subject and if you get enough questions right on the test, you get the credits for the class. There are different versions, so it is a good idea to talk to the school counselor to make sure you are taking the right test.

- Textbooks are a major expense in college, so do your homework beforehand. Right after you sign up for classes, call up your bookstore and ask them what the books you need are. Then try
- Rentabook.com or Amazon or Half.com
- For novels, try the library
Some books can be used for two classes in a row. Look that up as well.
- Some schools buy your books back, others have a trade your books with other students thing. Check what your school offers.

- If you take more classes, by taking condensed and weekend classes and online classes - you may not have a social life. you may graduate early and save a bit on housing though.

- Go to Safeway and buy Snacks. If you looked at the amount you spend every month on just convenience you would be shocked. So, try getting your favorites in bulk and save.

Don't Party and Stay up All Night - Wilma Proops Advice

Wilma Proops has put all 12 of her children (aka "vagina fruit") through college. She reckons that the year out before they started helped. For a year they were allowed to stay out, stay up, party and get high. Wilma decided that this course was best as, when she graduated herself (twice as a mature student), she noticed that most first year students who had come straight to uni from VIth form and were away from their parents for the first time - went bloody mad with their first taste of parental freedom. Squandered their student loans on alcohol, made friends with sleep deprivation, made numerous shag buddies but did little study. What a waste of money and the chance to study. They all (apart from the stupid) lived to regret it. If you do go straight to uni from VI form of course you are going to go mad to start with but do so with care and try and limit it to freshers' week. Another way of surviving on a hudget is get a job - Wilma's 12 all did. Also, befriend one of the over indulged rich middle/upper class students and eat all their food. Live in the library to cut down on domestic heating costs. +1 JOIN XOMBA HERE FREE Xomba is an international online community and anyone can join.
