How to Have the Perfect Bath
posted April 27, 2009 - 5:50amHaving a bath can sometimes be something you just have to do, however if you have a bath properly then this can reduce your stress and and make you relax which can improve your overall health. Taking a few moments to prepare for your bath is a fantastic way to help ease the tension of the body and promote circulation. Here are 5 steps to haveing the perfect bath.
STEP 1 - THE TEMPERATURE
The temperature of the water must be just right, the right tepmerature is upto the point you feel you can dip your hand in and not get burnt. You could use a thermomenter to ensure the water is not too warm or not to cold. Make sure you mix the water properly to get consistance in the temperature. The water once you have entered may start to get cold so you may wish to add more hot water at regular intervals. You may wish to invest in a bath which can regulate temperature which will prevent any intermission in your relaxation.
STEP 2 - THE BATHING AREA
The bathing area must be clean and tidy, keep clutter to a minimum, have any products or item in a reachable distance as you dont want to over exert yourself. Always ensure you have taken into account any hazards that are near your bath, for example do not have your hairdryer to hand which is plugged into the mains socket. Overall you must feel in a completely destressed environment as soon as you enter your bathroom
STEP 3 - ATMOSPHERE
The atosphere must be relaxing, have some candles that have been lit instead of light (Be careful though), have nice relaxing music in the background such as a chill out CD or classical music, dont have rock as this will not relax you. Have nice therapeutic scents or scented candles to release relaxing smells to help your senses relax. Why not have a relaxing bath with your partner as this will further improve your relaxation levels as you are with someone you feel good with.
STEP 4 - RELAXING OILS
Use relaxng oils such as lavander to help relax the skin, the smell will also relax your mind. There are many kinds of herbal oils and you must find the right one that suits you. You may wish to get the advice of a herbalist who will be able to give you samples of the products so you can judge for yourself once they have outlined the benefits to you. Remember to use a small amount as you dont want the smell to be overpowering.
STEP 5 - PRODUCTS
Use shower gels and soaps that are not too harsh, make sure they are scented in a relaxing scent and always use a ample amount to cleanse yourself. You may wish to invest in a premium brand cleanser and soap for occasions such as these so your relaxation can be increased further. There are many great products out there, consult with a beauty therepist for the best relaxing products and they will be sure to give you the right advice.
