Raising children is difficult enough, much less raising grandchildren. There seems like there is a whole new set of rules to raise grandchildren. Living with my grandchildren was never planned, it just happened. But I’m not alone, there seems to be a whole new trend in families and more grandparents are caring for grandchildren due to circumstances, or helping with the care of the children. One thing is the grandparent needs there space too. They need to be able to do the things that they enjoy too, and make friends their own age if possible. They need to have their room and there things, and children need to respect their space. Adult children don’t always understand that, and when you live in the same house; it is taken for granted that you will be there to care for the grandparenting of the children if mom isn’t available.
