A loud laughter pours in a lot of positive energy and enthusiasm and it affects not only the person who is laughing but also the persons surrounding him; and to say the least laughter is really infectious. This flow of energy from one person another works wonders. Let us see what are the physical benefits we can get from laughing -

1. Elevate Mood - A good joke resulting into a burst of laughter can drive away depressions in a second which hundreds medicines cannot do.

2. Reduce Stress - After a very stressful and hectic, a little laughter in a drinks / gathering refreshes the mind and helps reduce the stress.

3. Lower Blood Pressure - People who laugh heartily on a regular basis have lower standing blood pressure than the average person. When people have a good laugh, initially the blood pressure increases, but then it decreases to levels below normal. Breathing then becomes deeper which sends oxygen enriched blood and nutrients throughout the body

4. Protect the heart - Laughter may help to protect a heart attack. For the blood pressure and heart benefits in many places we see that "laughing clubs" are organized.

5. Laughters give our body a good workout. Also it immensely helps in reducing anxiety as it can divert us to a humorous situation rather than thinking about anxiety creating problem.

There are lots of others physical benefits but best part probably is, laughter makes us feel good and it can also connect us to other people.

Hence we can see there are many ways in which laughter can change our lives, but if laughter is the best medicine, where is the pharmacy where we can fill our prescriptions?
