How to Make A Profit From Your Hobby

We all have crafts and hobbies that we do and always think in the back of out minds...I'd like to sell these. Well it does not take alot of effort to do just follow these easy steps. It could turn into a full time job.     nbsp;

First, find out the category of your craft it, be it sewing, soap making, art, jewelry, or like mine, cooking. Look for connections in your area by phone book, craigslist, or bulletin boards at stores and restaurants. Check with the place you buy your materials from, and network with other people that are involved with your hobby.

If your craft or hobby is seasonal, check with the local churches, or chamber of commerce for events in the area. Make sure you get a-hold of them well in advance to be a vendor at their event. Another way is to find out about your local farmers/saturday markets. When you do this, first go there and look around, check it out then talk to the person in charge and see if there is room. If not get on a waiting list. Even though it is a mellow kick back event, be professional, and bring a sample. Follow their guideline.

Another way that is easy is to have a craft fair at your house where you can invite others to sell their crafts at your event. A garage sale focusing on your craft/hobby in another good way. Make sure you advertise as much as possible. There are alot of free advertising on the internet, like craigslist and local television websites that offer this. Newspaper is another way.

When you do events at your home, offer free coffee, burn a nice candle. This is really good if you are selling candles. Be sure your house is free of clutter and the front walk-up area is clean. Play some soft music. Remember if you make your home like a small store people will tell others and return themselves just for the atmosphere of the sale.

Have fun, be friendly. Not every one will buy, still make them comfortable. If someone criticizes an item let them state their opinion, because you like your item and that is what matters.

Do not try and start at big events, start small and work towards bigger events. Heck they may even get a-hold of you to be a vendor at their events
