How Many College Educated People Does it Take...???

The four of us went to Savannah on the way here. It was pretty awesome. Our major purpose for going there was to visit Paula Dean's restaurant. Our mouths watered the entire way there. I even drooled a little bit. It was a four hour trip...but for some reason it took about 5 and a half to get there from Suwanee.

So that was the first place we went when we pulled into Savannah. We noticed a line of people. This wasn't just any line. This line was so long. It was so long, at first I thought that Angelina Jolie was at the front of the line giving away free sexual favors or something. This line was literally a quarter mile long. There must've been 300 people in line...and that's probably an underestimate. And the freakin' place didn't even open up for another 2 hours!!!

So we didn't go there. Instead, we went to the beach. We went to a local restaurant and mingled with the locals. That's always fun in a beach town. Everybody looked like Jimmy Buffet. Everybody here is so freakin' nice. Too nice. It's kinda annoying. Just let me pay for my Mt. Dew and don't engage me in any conversation. Sheesh!! We also had the brilliant idea when we left this morning that we could watch the sunset over the ocean. How cool and romantic, right??

We sat on a bench, staring at the ocean and the horizon. It was absolutely beautiful. We stared in awe. Well, they stared. I took a ton of pictures. There's just something about the ocean and the sky that's just so inspiring...at least for me. The sky kept getting darker and darker...but no sunset. It must've been a couple hours of staring at the horizon before one of us (Ken, I think) finally realized - "Hey..we're on the east coast...the sun sets in the west!" Immediately, we all turn around simultaneously. Sure enough, the sun was fading quickly behind the sea of expensive run-down motels.

Seriously...between the 4 of us, we have about 20 years of college under our belts. Why did it take us so long to realize this common act of nature?? I don't know. Maybe some of it has to do with the fact that I started giggling when we passed one of the road signs that said "Woodcock". Maybe Diana's inability to properly work a newspaper machine, pay phone, or gas pump contributed to our lack of common sense. Or was it Ken's amusement (and, for that matter, all of our enjoyments) at making Freddy Krueger fingers out of his crab legs at dinner and then making them do the Can-Can. And Sunita...girl, you should've just known better. come on. Well, you did kinda giggle when Ken made walrus teeth out of his chopsticks the other night.

Ok...we're not the brightest bunch. But at least when that car cut us off yesterday, we all went Michigan on his ass and flipped him off in unison. So nobody can say we don't stick together.
Ahhh...good times.
