How Not To Make Money With Adsense

How Not To Make Money With Adsense

Y'know how an itch can eventually go away even if you don't scratch it? Well, for me, writing is not like that. The itch does not go away; it'll build up and up until it bursts out of me. Gawd help me if I don't have a keyboard or a piece of paper to let it out - I get distracted and sometimes snappy with the folks around me (poor folks!).

I never ever consider keywords when I write for Xomba which is probably part of my problem when it comes to making money with Adsense, which I don’t. I’ve been a member here for almost a year now and I haven’t yet reached the $20 mark. Yeah, it can get kind of frustrating when I see other folks who have been members for less time and easily hit $100 seemingly without trying. Maybe they just have better writing skills or more interesting articles than I do. Hell, I don’t really mind if that’s the case; - I’m just here so I can have somewhere to put my writing, I guess.

When I'm writing, I'm not thinking of search engines or how to make money or how to get a higher rating than other folks. To be honest, it's the articles that I least expect to that get the highest ratings (such as this one) and it's the ones that I sometimes work the hardest on (like The Bloop) that can go un-noticed. Yet, in saying that, I have noticed that anything with a touch of humour in it (Please Excuse Me As I Install My Fart Silencer), can be very well recieved.

Anyways, I don't want to sound Bukowskian or anything but if folks want to read what I've written, they will. If they don't, then I bear no grudge against them. Don’t get me wrong, I do care about the content and quality of my writing - I care very much – but I find that the task of thinking of and including keywords for search engines distracts me from whatever it is I want to say in my articles. Maybe this is something I just have to work on?

Silly me!

I hear that all the time, but to be honest, I have not found the tool! Granted, I have only looked for it onece or twice, but I haven't found it. MJ - Sending happy thoughts!

SEO needs not be so complicated

It's like learning to use a telephone or, heck, just learning how to get online and surf the web. As Idlewild said, Google has a keyword tool and that is often enough to show which words are better than others on a given topic. Besides, Google keeps its algorithm pretty secret so trying to say for sure what is the best way all the time to optimize articles is a challenge. CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

SEO

Google has a keywords tool that will analyze text you write and show the relative popularity of keywords contained therein. It's very easy to use.... paste in your text and go. I use it sometimes, but don't know if it's actually increased my earnings at all.

SEO is like math to me

It is a bunch of rules of how to, that don't make sense in my head. Like you Hellcat, I write what feels like it needs to come out of my head onto a paper or keyboard. Money is nice and yeah, I wish I was earning more with Adsense, but I enjoy the writing and the flow of the writing to stop and change this or that to add the keywords or phrases. If I could find a SEO list that is easy to read and understand and not an algebra word problem, maybe I'd put more effort into learning it. I have been thinking about it lately, but have no idea where to look that isn't a BS site of "Buy my e-book for SEO and earn money in just 30 minutes!" Happy writing Hellcat!
