How to plan a Wii party!
posted September 28, 2009 - 9:51amHave you thought of getting friends and family together to play Wii games in a party atmosphere but you’re not quite sure how to do it?
The Wii is a home video game console designed by Nintendo and it has been successful in its primary goal of creating a gaming experience that is fun for all.
Make a List of Games to Play.
In addition to Wii Sports, which comes with the box, you may want to try the following:
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Mario and Sonic at the Olympics
- Wii Play
- Pro Evolution Soccer
- Mario Party 8
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
- Wii Fit
- Trauma Center: Second Opinion
You have a lot of choices and will be able to find one that fits with the interests of your group.
Show a few family pictures or pictures of your most recent outings with your friends as a slide show using Wii’s Photo Channel!
You and your guests can spend time using the Miii Channel to create cute avatars for use in the games!
Make sure that you have party food that you and all your guests can enjoy.
For beverages, try a nice punch, light beer, water, fruit juice, coconut water, red wine, etc.
For food, try pizza, chicken wings, sandwiches and more difficult but equally tasty, mini meat rolls, Mexican cheese fondue and vegetable trays and dips.
You can connect your Wii to the internet so friends who are far away can join in the fun.

While the party is in progress, although safety is everyone’s responsibility, the primary responsibility for observing safety precautions is yours.
- Give all your players sufficient room to move so they don’t hit each other.
- Ensure that everyone wears the wrist strap and holds the Wii remote firmly.
- Make players take a 10 or 15 minute break for every hour of play.
- Make sure that the play area is well-lit.
- If any player starts feeling dizzy or nauseous, ask them to stop and rest.
Have fun both planning and hosting your party!
