How to play the online game Mafia Wars on Facebook or Myspace is not that hard to do. It is easy once you know the how it all works.
- The first thing you would want to do is start building up the largest Mafia you can.
To do this you want to start by grabbing your recruiting link found under "my mafia" inside of the Mafia Wars application. Start giving your recruiting link out to your whole network of friends. You will be surprised at how many friends get on board to play when they see that you are playing. This is also a good way to make friends and build strong relationships with people you might not have had the opportunity to meet. This is a good way to meet new people.

You want the best of the best so I recommend you check out this place. The "Apps" directory on Facebook. Here is the link. http://www.facebook.com/apps/directory.php . This is where you want to paste your "join my mafia link". Also, read what other players have posted. You will want to try to add all the best players you see who have left comments here.
- Make a free Twitter account and go to http://www.socialoomph.com/ .
Make a free account there also and go to “Manage My Scheduled Tweets and Twitter Account Automation." Click the box that says "Auto Welcome" and enter your mafia-recruiting link into the message box. This message can only be 20 characters. I recommend making your link shorter by visiting http://tinyurl.com/. That is a great place to go to in order to shorten those long urls. It is currently a free service.
With those steps, you will be well on your way to building a large mafia family. Remember you want to try to add as many strong players as you can. They will be fighting with you or against you so having them on your side; right from the start is a very smart move. The number to reach here is 500 but no one stops at just 500. They all might not be playing with you but if they are in your family, at least you know they will not be fighting against you. Facebook allows you a maximum of 5,000 friends. That would be the real goal to aim for.
Now as your building, this up you will need to collect weapons, armor, and vehicles for each of your mafia friends. You get these items by doing jobs and by fighting. At the start, you are not strong enough to do any fighting. What you want to do at this point is do jobs and build energy. You want to build as much energy as you can at the start. It helps you to level faster and that reloads your energy, health, and stamina. Do the bigger jobs first and the lower energy jobs as your energy rebuilds slowly in-between leveling. That way you will level faster and get better weapons. The larger up the job is the better loot items you win. You want the best of the best loot you can get at the time. Building the best collection of loot is a never-ending process in this game. Once you think, you got your 500 best weapons they always come out with ones a little bit stronger so just relax and do the best you can. Now is also the time you want to make sure you best players are in the six top mafia spots. That will earn you bonuses thought out the game. It will make a huge difference in how fast you progress.
Your Godfather points should always be spent wisely. They do not hand them out very often. You do not need to spend them on things you already get easily like health refills and more mafia players. I would recommend using them for energy refills. The energy is going to make you level faster and gain more points. Here is a nice rule of thumb. When gifting out to your mafia take into consideration the level they are. Most likely they wont be able to use the weapons you have access to. So gift them out things they can use like boosts and vaulted boosts items. They will be much more pleased with that then a weapon they have no use for. As you finish more jobs, new jobs become available to you. Just as I mentioned before the higher up the job is the better loot.
When you have built up your family and loot items, it would then be a good time to start doing some fights. Rule here is to pick a person who has a smaller family then you. Chances of winning are more in your favor if you keep this in mind. Click on the link of the person before you fight them and see what they have. If it looks like they have more loot then you do then I would skip on to someone else. Fighting wont move you fast along in the level department but here is where you can earn quite a bit of money and Radom loot items. I recommend you fill your health up in New York and fly to Cuba to do as many fights as you can. If you cannot find anyone smaller then you there, then travel back to New York and fight there until you can take on someone in Cuba and win. You also want to complete all three rounds of each job before you move on to bigger jobs. At least until you get the hang of things. You want to obtain as much experience points with the least amount of energy. Focusing in the high jobs while your energy is full and working the smaller jobs as your energy builds.
