How to publish a full color comic book for free and make huge money from it

Maybe you're like so many of us: growing up, you wanted to become a comic book artist. You spent your childhood drawing cartoons with your smudgy crayons. In your teens, you were more ambitious, you wanted to change the world with your comics, and you published a string of photocopied mini comics.

However, you always wanted to become a real, professional comics artist, but realized it's too hard. Maybe you realized that you'll never be as good as your world-famous idols. Maybe you turned to writing scripts instead - like I did.

Also, even if you are very, very talented, it's usually extremely hard to persuade publishers and editors to publish your material. And these days, the comic book biz isn't what it used to be.

There's only one solution: self publishing.

Now, you may of course got to Lulu.com and make your comic book there, which is possible, but I have another, better solution:

Indyplanet.com.

Indyplanet is a company who specializes in printing comics on demand. It's also interesting that one nowadays can find rather classy work for the POD market. There's of course a lot of crap -  and I mean crap! - on Indyplanet's homepage, but there are also lots of books that look and feel 100% professional.

Publishing with Indyplanet is a tad confusing, at least the first time before you get used to it and understand what the hell is going on. You see, first of all, you have to sign up with- and log into a site kalled Ka-Blam.com. There, you select the size of the comic you want to create: standard comic book size, manga size and so on. Then it's time for you to place an order in which you specify the page count and if it's going to be in color or not.

Wait a second! You have to place an order? Yeah, I told you this is a tad confusing. Yes, you place an order - but that doesn't mean you have to BUY anything. Because, if you only want your book to be available as a POD title from Indyplanet, you put "0" in the quantity box.

After that, it's time to upload your files with the cover and comic art. As soon as Indyplanet has had the time to have a look at your comic, it goes live and can be ordered by comics fans all over the world.

...But first of all, you need a COMIC to publish! And I guess I'd better leave creating that comic to you... But a tip is checking out my article on writing scripts for comics. I also suggest you browse the titles on Indyplanet's webstore. It's actually quite inspiring and I think you'll agree with me when I say that several of them look extremely professional.
