How the Teddy Bear Feels
posted January 10, 2007 - 7:32pmWe all know one-'Teddy Bear' or another-. Truth is, every man who calls himself Christian aspires to have a few qualities of the Teddy Bear! The greatest of these–we all should've rehd–is love.
The love I'm talking about, though, is not spoken. It survives off of the love that is spoken, but ... well, read a faméd Teddy-Bear's method-of-love:
Artist: Elvis Presley
(words & music jerry leiber - mike stoller)
Treat me like a fool,
Treat me mean and cruel,
But love me.
Wring my faithful heart,
Tear it all apart,
But love me.
If you ever go,
Darling, i'll be oh---
so lonely
I'll be sad and blue,
Crying over you,
dear only.
I would beg and steal
Just to feel---
your heart
Beatin' close to mine
Well, if you ever go,
Darling, i'll be oh---
so lonely
I'll be sad and blue,
Crying over you,
dear only.
I would beg and steal
Just to feel---
your heart
Beatin' close to mine
Well, if you ever go,
Darling, i'll be oh---
so lonely
Beggin' on knees,
All i ask is please,
please love me
... Oh yeah
You can see that the teddy-bear does not mention his love so much as he mentions the effects his love has on him, or the pains his desire for love wreak upon him. His love is the fuel that feeds the force lit by 'the flame' (the object of his love).
