How to cook a turkey

Need to know how to cook a turkey? Heres some simple steps on making sure that you cook your turkey so that it tastes great, but is still safe. When preparing your turkey, add any seasonings you desire. To cook your turkey, place it in your oven. A turkey is safe to eat when the turkey is at least 165 degrees internally. To check the temperature of your turkey, be sure to use a meat thermometer. Before you cook your turkey, be sure to allow your turkey to be in a refrigerator for 1-2 days and allow the turkey to be in cold water for 4-6 hours. Do not rinse your turkey, as the splash water from the turkey may contaminate your other foods or your sink. The recommended internal temperature will easily destroy the bacteria on the turkey. Be sure to cook your turkey thoroughly. The recommended cooking time for a 8-12 pound turkey is 2 3/4 to 3 hours at 325 degrees. Be sure to cook your turkey properly, and have a great turkey day!
