How To Grill Corn On The Cob - Even Indoors
posted May 29, 2008 - 6:01pmHave you only made corn-on-the-cob by boiling it? There is another way to cook it and it is delicious. You won't believe how easy it is.
Things You’ll Need:
* 6 Ears of Corn - amount is up to you
* Grill, Foil, and/or Grill Skillet
* 6 Tablespoons Butter
- margarine is actually a lot worse for your health : )
* Salt and Pepper
* Napkins!
Step 1
Corn should have no bruising or mold.
Grill Outdoor: Peel down the husks on cobs. Do NOT pull them off. Pull out all the silk from the corn. Rinse clean under water. Put the husk back down over corn.
Grill Indoors: Peel husk completely off corn. Remove and rinse all silk from corn.
Step 2
Soak husks to prevent catching on fire.
Grill Outdoors: Place cobs of corn (with husks still attached) in container of water, submerged. Let soak 15 to 20 minutes. Drain corn on the cob by holding them upside down for a couple seconds.
Gill Indoors: No soaking needed.
Step 3
Melt butter for better spread.
Gill Outdoors: Preheat grill in usual manner. Open husks and spread corn with butter.
Grill Indoors: Preheat oven to 350 degrees or heat grilling skillet on medium heat, which ever you wish to use. If you use the oven line tray with foil. Open husks and spread corn with butter.
Step 4
Peel husks and enjoy.
Grill Outdoors: Once grill is heated, place cobs on grill. Cover and keep turning until all sides look burnt.
Grill Indoors: Once oven or skillet is heated, place corn on foil lining or in skillet. Turn a couple of times. Total cooking time will be approximately 5 to 6 minutes, depending on the heating of your unit.
Tips & Warnings
* Try melting butter and garlic together, spread on at beginning
* If preferred you can add more butter to the corn after cooked
* Salt and pepper to taste
* Have the napkins close at hand
