How to increase sales at Craft Shows
posted November 8, 2007 - 9:54amIf you sell your crafts at craft shows, here is one way that can increase your sales.
Make crafts that can house or display collectibles. This is an amazing way to make money.
If you collect vintage or antique barbie dolls for example, why not create some kind of stand that will hold these dolls, or a display case.
Not only will you get interest in your display cases or stands, you will also get questioned about the collectible. This is a geat way to sell some collectibles.
Next time you are gathering your supplies for your craft show, also research and purchase some collectibles to go with your crafts.
I found at craft shows, that many customers will drag their hubbys or partners with them, who are not really interested in crafts, but eyes light up when they see a table with collectible trains, cars, pipes, whatever... displayed nicely in well crafted stands or display cases. You will most likely make a sale to them.
I also have taken antique dolls, and cleaned them up and made beautiful clothes for them that match the period of the doll, as I love to sew.. and then display them, and instead of just selling the clothes, I usually sell the doll as well. People love to see a useable craft or art, so dust off your talents, and try a different direction and involve collectibles in your display.
