How To Serve A No Stress Christmas Day Brunch

You wake up early Christmas morning, and you have a house full of family and guests who will all be hungry after opening gifts.

I know its hard to believe after all the snacking, but you know it is true. They will start wandering about wanting breakfast/brunch any time now.

You could be stuck in the kitchen for hours feeding this crowd. Not this Christmas. You are going to spend a few minutes getting the omelet bar ready and then you can relax with your family and admire everyone's gifts.

So get out some of those leftovers and some easy omelet goodies and set up a quick omelet bar that will let everyone fix their own omelet their own way.

Christmas Morning

At my house we get special candies, homemade gingerbread men, oranges, and nuts in our stockings with little toys and other small gifts. The candies are special, like a few pieces of Godiva Chocolate or some really good gomemade candies. Some years I make dark chocolate covered caramels or nut clusters with caramel and dark chocolate or truffles... We don't have candy very often, and Christmas is one of those special times. Everyone nibbles on the fruit and nuts and candies and gingerbread men while they are opening presents, so when presents are all opened, a good high protein omelet is just the thing to bring the kids down off their sugar high. Then we can have a relaxed afternoon of gift admiring and cooking the big Christmas dinner for a little later in the day and not be pressured to get it done because everyone is starving. We have brunch around 11 am and we eat Christmas Dinner around 4 in the afternoon. By then everyone is plenty hungry... Merry Christmas Angel

Christmas in Honolulu

At my house, we never seem to have anything in the house to snack on for Christmas day. Sure, there's a big meal at 2:00 or so, but we aren't allowed to touch any of those goodies until we eat as a family.
