How To Stop Water Pipes From Knocking

Do your water pipes make that annoying knocking sound when you turn the water faucet off? The knocking sound could be caused by there not being enough air in the water pipe line, and it is easy to fix.
Here is a 3-step fix for knocking water pipes:
Shut off the main water valve coming into your home.
Flush all toilets and turn on every water faucet.
Slowly turn the main water valve back on.
That's all there is to it! This will restore the proper air pressure in your water pipes and stop that knocking sound.
This procedure will loosen sediment in your water pipes, so remove the screens from each faucet and clean them out. When you turn on a water faucet, there will be water spitting and sputtering for a few moments, but then the water pressure will return to normal with no more water pipe knocking.
