How to survive a heart attack when alone

Many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack.A person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint has only about ten seconds left before losing consciousness. However the victims can help themselves by coughing vigorously and repeatedly.A deep breath should be taken before each cough, deep and prolonged as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up until help arrives. Deep breath gets oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.

a lifesaving tip

Yes, this is a very interesting procedure. I came across this procedure way back then. Now I am incorporating this on my trainings. I actually conduct first aid and cpr courses. Well, another interesting though would be is to take in apsirin during chest pain and now they are also advising compression cpr only which is also very helpful. Should you be interested on the new guideline visit this link from AHA http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/reprint/CIRCULATIONAHA.107.189380 you may also visit my blog for first aid training guidelines: http://firstaidguide.blogspot.com

Nice

This is very good advice that not many people know. I first came across it a few years ago and passed it on to everyone I knew - mainly because even if there's alot of other people there with you, coughing can still add precious seconds onto the time between the heart attack starting and the paramedics reaching you. +1
