How To Trim Excess Fat From Your Diet
Some of us like to watch our diet and eat healthly. Here are a few tips to do just that.
1.Choose lower fat grain items more often. These might include oats, wheat, corn, rye, rice, or millet. These are cholesterol free with little fat.
Bread, such as rye, wheat and whole grain white
Pretzels, plain pasta noodles, rice, bagles, oatmeal, grits and farina.
Eat 6-11 servings daily.
2. Choose vegatables. They are naturally low in fat and cholesterol. The best choices are fresh vegtables, frozen without butter or sauce, canned without butter or sauce, asparagus, carrots, corn, and broccoli.
Eat 3-5 servings daily.
3.Choose Fruit, it is delicious, sweet and cholesterol free. Fresh fruit such as apples, banana's, pears, mango's, and grapes are good choices. Avocado's and coconuts have a higher fat content, and should be eaten less often.
Eat 2-4 servings daily
4.Choosing Milk, yogurt and cheese. Replace whole milk with skim milk. Low fat milk is also excellent as a creamer in your coffee, it is much more healthful than non dairy creamers, which are high in fat. Try using 2% milk, evaporated skim milk, low fat yogurt plain, fat free ice cream.
When fat is removed from cheese the flavor is altered, there are some cheeses available. So try a variety and find ones most acceptable to you.
Other ways to trim fat from your diet are presented below.
The meat group is an excellent way to start trimming fat. In red meat search out leaner cuts. When buying pork, look for tenderloin and loin cuts. Look for the white meat in chicken, as the dark meat is higher in fat.
Fish with a high source of omega 3 includes mackerel, anchovies, herring, salmon, sardines, trout, cod haddock, and fresh tuna. Another way to trim fat is meatless substitutes like dry beans and peas. Which are high in protein.
Snack in moderation. Portion Control is the key. Avoid the urge to polish of the entire serving.
No more than 3 fat free rice cakes.
One handful of fat free potato chips.
2 ounces of dried fruit.
Three refinedwheat-flour crackers.
A low-fat whole oats granola bar.
A fianlly drinking 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day, drinking generous amounts of water is overwhelmingly the number one way to ward off food cravings and reduce appetite.
Start simple, trim as much or as little as needed from your diet.
