How to use Expedia to get the best price available on airfare!
posted June 30, 2008 - 2:12pmExpedia is by far the best internet provider of Airfare ,if you know how to use the system!
When planning your trip, I want you to take advantage of the savings you deserve.
Since 9/11 most airlines have stopped passing discounts along to travel agency's. What happens here is
they take the same price that you can get and mark it up 5, 10, or even 25%.
Step2 Log into Expedia.com ,and become a registered member, they will ask for a credit card, but don't be afraid they are insured and site protected.
Step3 Enter your airport of departure and return. Now here's the secret, when you are picking a departure time, choose anytime on the day. The second trick is try changing the day, back and fourth 4 days in each direction.
Try and book you flight at least 14 days out for the best fares, but this is not always necessary to get the best rates.
If you spend about ten minutes searching you could be like me and fly back and fourth to Europe for $500.00 or from LA TO NEW YORK for $79.00.
TIPS AND WARNINGS.
It's less expensive to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sundays. The reason is these are not regular business travel days, when the airlines increase fares to take advantage of Business men who can't change there schedule.
Expedia lets you pick your seat, meal plan, and amount of layovers.
Check your Itinerary, if not you might end up with a 12 hour layover.
Sometimes in a emotional crises we book and will pay any fare, this is what the airlines are counting on. Remember to take a breath and spend 10 minutes changing the time and if possible the airport of departure if you can.
