So what exactly is aerobic fitness? Muscles require oxygen to work efficiently. That is why when you exercise your breathing gets harder and deeper. So the more your level of aerobic fitness is the more you can accomplish in your everyday activities. Just like other kinds of exercise it takes time to see benefits. Within weeks you should start seeing some results however.
There are some sports that are especially good for your aerobic fitness. Swimming is one of the best in my opinion. It is very low impact and works most of your muscle groups. Bicycling is another excellent way to improve your aerobic fitness level. If you enjoy exercising in groups then I recommend taking an aerobic class.
One of the best benefits of aerobic exercise is how it helps to reduce stress. The best time to get this benefit is either during luch time or at the end of a stressful day.
