As a dental student, my first tooth extraction patient was a young man and coincidently, it was his first extraction! I wanted to keep the tooth as a memento. We were both nervous, but fortunately, it was out without any problems! As I was about to instruct sister to keep the tooth aside for me, the patient said, “Excuse me, doctor. I would like to take the tooth.”
“Why?” I asked.
Much to my amazement, he replied“I would like to keep it as a memento!
