I believe in office romance

 

I believe in romance.
At work, I like to know things about people - like what projects they're working on, what they dig, etc. Then as I putter about my day and disperse e-mails about various things for various reasons – mostly to do with communication and making sure we’re all informed – I bcc folks.
A bcc you get from me lets you know that nobody knows this memo was also sent to you. If you can’t see your name, neither can they.
I wonder if you realize that.
What I hope you do notice is that I realize what things you need to know, what things you dig and what things perhaps interest you.
Because your project involves a big decision about a big thing, I may include you on the dispersion of a tidbit that deals in the now with a small piece of that big thing.
Now, isn’t that interesting. Doesn’t it make you smile?
I hope I surprised you. I hope it brought a brief butterfly of excitement up your chest.
I believe in romance.
