Oh So Happy I Didn't Get Shot!

Oh So Happy I Didn't Get Shot!

I missed out on PS3 as I tried to stand in the large herd in front of my local Best Buy. I didn't really think that I'd get one, but it was worth trying. Once again we've proven that money and demand rules our lives. I personally was there to claim my PS3 only to sell it on ebay, aparantly many people had this same idea and the lucky ones made a couple grand. I mean I'd love to own one, but if I could sell it then buy one later down the road it would be free in essence! I'm not sure if I'm way off base here, but I think it truly shows that there is a large difference between rich and poor classes now as there ever has been... The rich don't care about spending four times the face value, and the poor stand/sleep in line to make a grand or two... Wow my life is pathetic!

On another note, maybe video games do cause violence... Naw, that's just crazy talk!

True

I do have all the signs of a non-poor person... I guess I just feel poorer than some of my friends... I guess I didn't really look at it from a true poor person's perspective... I do agree about your comment on that's why the gunmen come out though :)

Sounds like you're living

Sounds like you're living fairly comfortably despite these loans, though, so I wouldn't say you're poor. I mean, you've obviously got a computer, internet access, a digital camera of some sort even if its a cell phone, probably a cell phone, and transportation to Best Buy. Poor would probably be the bottom 5, 10, mayyybe 15%, certainly not the bottom 25. You're lower middle class, which can be worse in many many ways like getting any sort of help from the government, but still not poor. "Thank you for driving carefully through the villiage." That's what the sign says.

I'm poor

To answer Dragonfly... My roomate and I went to three places and ended up staying at the Best Buy, because there were the most PS3's that were supposed to be released there... We were pretty far back in line and after talking with people for a couple hours we knew that we weren't going to get one, so we left... It turned out that Best Buy had even less than they thought To answer Mr. Light... Well I wouldn't exactly say I'm poor, but I have student loans I'm paying off, and not perfect credit... I'm trying to get established at work... and I'd say I'm poorer than 75% of people in the U.S. Not having $600 extra to spend is no problem though... That's why there's credit lol...

The "poor" don't have 600

The "poor" don't have 600 bucks to "invest" in a chance at a couple grand in ebay profits. That's where our gunmen come in most of the time. Its the middle class you're seeing in action, mostly the lower end but the upper portions like to try this stuff too. Its the same market that used to "invest" in commemorative plates and the like. The investments DO work, but the problem is that you can never invest enough money frequently enough to really make them work well. The rich know their time is worth more than 100 bucks an hour(really, it probably is) and their child's happiness on christmas morning is worth not bargain hunting. "Thank you for driving carefully through the villiage." That's what the sign says.

PS3 Mania(c)

Very entertaining! You didn't say what happened though. You 'tried' to stand in line? Were you there disturbing people's sleep or something, and they ran you off? Or what? Hahaha!! Silliness!! Dragonfly
