I hate tulips
posted August 22, 2006 - 9:17pmAndy and I just found out, for sure, that we're going to California for Christmas. I'm going to meet his grandparents, which I guess is the next big step. His parents are buying our tickets as a Christmas/birthday/graduation present for him. I'm really excited. We've never taken a
trip together, other than going back home to visit and moving here.
I'm looking into getting a second job. Maybe another barista position, if nobody minds that I was fired from my first one. I just need something to 1) fill the days, and 2) pad my bank account a bit. I've been so irresponsible about money since I've gotten here. It'd be great to actually get enough money tucked away so that I didn't have to worry. Maybe one day I'll send my mom a big check to pay back the entirety of the loan she gave me, rather than month-by-month installments. Stuff like that.
I can see how adults get so boring so quickly. When money becomes such a real concern, it's easy for it to take up your mind and you forget how to relax. I remember going out to lunch with my old youth group leader a few years ago and all the adults there were talking about the construction going on. My friend Tom turned to me and said, "This is boring." Yep.
I signed up for another round on self.com, which is great, since once the Self Challenge ended, I got really lazy about exercising. It's good that I'm giving plasma so often, though--hearing my weight every week reminds me that I should be doing more. Not that the number matters. I just love my muscles. FLEX!

Tower of Terror, if you do go. It's in the California Adventure side. Best ride out of both parks.

Where is Calfornia? That's so exciting! Money is never fun to have to worry about. It's great to be able to get to a place where you don't have to worry anymore. Best of luck getting there!
