The "I have a Dream Speech" Delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. on August 28, 1963

January 19 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Falling just one day before before the inauguration of the first African American president in U.S. history, this holiday seems all the more poignant.

On August 28, 1963, Dr, Martin Luther King delivered his famous I Have a Dream speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Nearly 46 years later, this speech seems just as powerful, potent, and awe inspiring as it did when Dr. King spoke to over 250,000 civil rights supporters of the day, who gathered from all over the country for the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

Full text of this historic speech can be found here.
