I'm Having A Meltdown

I'm Having A Meltdown

Oh my God I feel like I'm having a meltdown!!! Last night was a dream at bedtime. Tonight it's hell again. I have told my son over and over to get to bed, and he refuses. I know most parents reading this are probably saying, "You're the parent. You're the one in control. Make him go to bed." It's not that easy with an oppositional defiant child.

If my son doesn't want to do something, he doesn't do it no matter what the consequences. His counselor told him if he had a good report next week they would go bowling. I threatened to tell his counselor, and he would lose his bowling time. He doesn't care. So, I'll call his counselor in the morning and let him know. Tomorrow, I'll have to pack up his toys and lug them down to my parents. I can't keep them here. He finds them and slowly they make their way back into my house. So I'll take the toys, the PlayStation II, and the Nintendo DS. We'll play board games and read. I'm tired of him not going to bed at a decent hour. I'm putting my foot down.
