Cab drivers and orange juice

Cab drivers and orange juice

I woke up in my car this morning, still in the office parking garage. A receipt sat crumpled in the passenger seat, showing that I withdrew $200 from a bank in Dupont. I only have $80 in my pocket. Okay, let me stop and preface.

It hasn't been many years since I left college. The last time I blacked out from drinking, I was 19 years old. Shit happens, I guess. But last night, as I concluded a late night at the office, I decided to have a drink with a couple of guys in my team (let's call them 'Mike' and 'Justin'). This is how the night went, if I remember correctly.

10:00pm - Mike, Justin and I leave for a sports bar in Arlington.

10:30pm - First round of Jack Daniel shots are ordered, along with three pints of beer and some cheese fries.

11:27pm - A friend of mine calls me to see if we want to hang out at a bar in Dupont where she bartends.

11:28pm - M, J and I discuss the ups and downs. There were more ups.

11:30pm - We ask for our tab and a third round of Jack Daniel. Justin tries to flag down a cab outside.

12:00am - We arrive at the bar. Justin doesn't feel so good, so he decides to take the cab back to the office. Mike and I venture inside.

12:15-ish am - We talk to my friend the bartender. Look around for people to chat with, and begin ordering shots like David Hasselhoff at the Wimbledon. Mike is screaming for no reason at all.

1:30 am - 9:00am Tuesday - The only people who knows what happened during this time period are god, the cab driver, and the camera at the ATM machine where I withdrew $200.

11:00am - VOTE!!!

12:30pm - Get into work, where both Mike and Justin have called in sick. Write this blog on Xomba, and wonder why I never thought about mixing green tea and orange juice before.

I guess "blacked out" would be too strong of a word. I just chose not to remember.

Never thought of the red

Never thought of the red bull for the vitamin B shot! Good idea! My typical remedy is Arizona Asian Plum iced tea and/or gatorade. OH, and excedrin, starting the night before if I can remember. "Thank you for driving carefully through the villiage." That's what the sign says.

Noted and filed

Definitely going to try that. Quite possibly on sunday morning - got a 25th birthday bash to go to. Should be good. I'll stock up on those ingredients before then.

Alcohol makes the world go 'round

My usual Hang-Over Hobby Kit: 1 liter of water 1 can Red Bull for the Vitamin B 1 Banana Brush my teeth and any headache medicine works wonders. Try it some time.

Interesting...

Though can't say I'm the biggest fan of green tea. I know it works wonders, but I just can't get past its odd taste. Good old water, or if feeling really rough, sports water/powerade does the trick for me.

Well...not really mixing

I didn't really mix them like you would imagine some sort of weird Asian Sangria. I chugged the orange juice to rehydrate. Green tea to calm my stomach so I don't throw up in the office. It worked great.

I can defintely relate

Been there before. Well, not Arlington, but the general scenario, most definitely. Orange juice and green tea??
