I Would Like To Be Wile E. Coyote

Wile E. CoyoteWile E. Coyote

For the uninitiated ( I can’t believe it though ) Wile E Coyote is a cartoon character created by Chuck Jones for Warner Bros. Wile E Coyote was born in 1948 and was part of the Roadrunner show in which he is shown trying to catch the roadrunner for supper.

Roadrunner for SupperRoadrunner for Supper

Both Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner had cameo roles in ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit.’

He was also the inspiration behind the character "Ralph Wolf". In another series of Looney Tunes, where the wolf is trying to steel sheep guarded by Sam sheepdog.

Where Is The Roadrunner?Where Is The Roadrunner?

I want to be Wile E Coyote because he has some qualities which all of us need to emulate to succeed in our lives. Wile E Coyote is a genius at creativity, is highly motivated, very result-oriented and has a never say die attitude even in the face of imminent failure. Most of all it is his drive and determination that I love and respect.

I'm Gonna Get HimI'm Gonna Get Him

Once MoreOnce More

Wile never gets depressed by his failures and is always up for the next attempt. It is the response to failure that defines a person. Wile accepts failures as the stepping stones to success.

I am sureI am sure

Thomas Edison said, “I did not fail 10,000 times, I just learnt 10,000 ways a thing will not work.” Wile is still at it. He spends a hell lot of a money, enough to buy him lots of food, on the Gizmos like Rocket powered sleds and skates etc from Acme, but no, our Coyote is not gonna do that. He is determined that he is going to have the Roadrunner for supper and that’s it. Nothing can change his mind.

Ooops AgainOoops Again

Look at the character, he has been blown to smithereens, smashed all the bones in his body, set on fire, run over many times by trains, steamrollers and other automobiles, cut into pieces and fallen from great heights but he does not give up. He keeps at it and faces innumerous dangers to achieve his objective, that of catching the Roadrunner. The moment his one attempt fails, he is back at the drawing board using his creativity to come up with a different plan to catching the Roadrunner.

All the products he buys from Acme always end up failing him. But, his loyalty towards the company is unwavering. He continues to buy products from the same company and has never once sued the company. But I am sure he will one day find a way to catch the Roadrunner.

OoooopsOoooops

If it was not for his luck, Wile would have caught the Roadrunner long time back. But he is not gonna blame it on his luck. He is happy with what he has. Like a user, Scruffy, on this site says, “If it was not for his bad luck, he'd have no luck at all.”

I can do with some luck!I can do with some luck!

Great Idea for motivational posters

Tenacious 1. Determined or stubborn tending to stick firmly to any decision, plan, or opinion without changing or doubting it. Maybe some of those inspiring and motivational posters that you see in offices should have a picture of the man (coyote himself) no explanation necessary. Going Somewhere? The Imaginings Are as Smart as the Imaginer

And no, I'm not necessarily talking about the cartoon-writers! They can "intend meaning behind" all their works, but the imaginers I'm talking about are us---the watchers. You ever notice how cartoons-etc. seem 'different' to you when you watch them after you've grown a little? For instance: ThunderCats was my fave cartoon when I was younger, because it was ~like~ a fairy-tale, but with the added lore of chivalry (like Knights of the Round Table, etc.) Now that I'm older, it's still kinda cool; but I know it as more 'an excuse for tough guys to wear tight clothes and prance around' than 'miracles of mutation defending their honor!' lol ... signed, Uncle MythMan---Big Fan of Friend-Networks like Hi-5 - About SuperBust, Watch Me

Wile E. Coyote. SMART. I

Wile E. Coyote. SMART. I had no idea Comics were so smart. HISTORY

You are right Myth

Chuck Jones says that the inspiration of the character came from the description of a coyote in the Mark Twain Book Roughing it (1886). You can read the extract here http://www.coyotetale.net/roughing.php The name Wile E. was designed to sound like Wily (cunning) but not directly. Later it was one of the comics in 1973 or 75 used Ethelbert. There is some contention on that, but we can live with that. Thanks for the comment kre8iv and the nice words. Bare Essentials

This +1 is for Wile E!

Great piece of writing and it seems so simple to get inspiration from a cartoon. I think I'll start watching more cartoons!
