This is the second time that ICC is hosting Twenty20 World Cup game after the first was hosted in 2007 in South Africa. The World Cup Twenty20 tournament consists of 12 teams with all the Test-playing nations plus qualifiers taking part. The grouping of teams for ICC World Cup Twenty20 2009 are:-

Group B: Pakistan, England, Netherlands
Group C: Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies
Group D: New Zealand, South Africa, Scotland
