"Meltdown: Iceland on the brink". That is the news from Independent Newspapers in Rekyavik announcing that although Iceland up until recently was "the" place to go. The country is now facing bankrupty. The situation is so bad that the government has resigned. Isn't that convenient, spend your country into oblivion and then resign, most likely well prepared financially.

Their city of Reykjavik was a favorite place to visit by the well-to-do and they had year-'round sun. It was a place where people looking for culture were lured. Now it may be that those happy days are over.
