If Barack Obama was a Republican…

If Barack Obama was a Republican…

Lost in the multitudes of inaugural celebrations that began last week and among the millions who will be watching the main event today is the reason why the endless fanfare – especially in the media – has come to be. Sure, it’s an historic event to be inaugurating the first bi-racial president of the United States, but let’s be honest – the celebratory mood and the fawning in the press is not just about Barack Obama’s skin color. In fact, that aspect is merely what one would call “icing on the cake.”

The truth is, Obama is being celebrated immensely because he epitomizes statism. He is left-wing politics.

Let’s put this theory to the test. Imagine for a moment that the new president went by the name of Ken Blackwell. Or let’s pretend that Condoleezza Rice was to be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States. Perhaps we just elected Michael Steele. Is there any doubt that these people would not only be ridiculed and attacked by the media, but that the inauguration would see nowhere near the celebrity turnout or as many of the seemingly infinite number of scheduled events as there are for Obama? Would there be comparisons to Abraham Lincoln, FDR, or JFK if any of the aforementioned were elected and had no major accomplishments to their names as Republicans?

Or let’s pretend that Barack Obama himself was actually a Republican. Would he still be mentioned in the same sentence as Lincoln, or would he be ridiculed for this past week’s travel arrangements? Would there be talk of a new era and racial healing, or would he be labeled an “Uncle Tom” by those who use such repulsive language when referring to Clarence Thomas or Colin Powell (before he threw his support to Obama)?

If we are being honest, I think we all know the answers to these questions. So, why is Obama being so greatly celebrated?

Because he’s a statist.

Because he’s a Democrat.

Barack Obama is the culmination of decades of “liberal” ideology in this country. He says exactly what the moochers and robbers of society want to hear. He speaks to those who are not capable of supporting themselves (or don’t want to) or feel bad about being successful while others are not. He reaches those who believe our expensive and expansive government is the solution to our problems instead of our principal obstruction to greater prosperity. His popularity is the result of massive ignorance – both intentional and accidental. Obama excited the “liberal” base and was able to dupe the uneducated and uninformed masses who didn’t know any better.

If he was a Republican, it never would have been allowed to happen.

Unfortunately, there is a substantial amount of voters that still believe the absurd, repugnant, and easily refuted lie that Republicans are racist and stood in the way of civil rights several decades ago – and continue to do so even to this day. Many of these voters also believe it is capitalism that has failed in this country and not our overbearing federal government. And you can forget about the idea of individual responsibility sinking in with these voters. Most have probably never heard that phrase in their life…because the government school system and most politicians in Washington don’t dare mention it.

As a result, there is no other way to describe the inauguration hype that we are seeing in the media and in the streets as anything other than “liberal” sycophancy.

Barack Obama the Republican would not exist as he does today. There would be no celebrity fanfare. There would be no ridiculous comparisons to great presidents of the past. Newspapers like The New York Times would be lamenting that it was not the Democrat Party that nominated and elected the first black president, and then they would subsequently attempt to destroy or defame everything about him: his character, his past, his policies, and even his family. And you can be sure that other media outlets would be doing the same.

So while you’re celebrating the inauguration of our first bi-racial president, just be honest with yourself about why you think it’s such a glorious moment in United States history.

Then imagine if Barack Obama had a capital ‘R’ next to his name for the history books.

@PubLius--I Didn't Mean "Belief that He Won't Make Bad Choices"

I meant that--as unfortunate as it may seem--my vote WAS 'for the lesser of two evils' ... though I might hope for the 'ideal' at times, I AM NOT an Idealist. Maybe that's why 'the Law of Attraction' hasn't worked the way I would like it to ... be ... have ... did ??? Napoleon Hill put it this way: when Roman soldiers sailed to a land they were soon to conquer, the first thing they did when they got there was to 'burn down the boats.' That's a more-solid way of saying "failure is not an option"---we conquer this land and settle here, or we cease to exist. But apparently 'failure sells more' if you look at all the media that's predicting Obama's future. I'm sure there's also media for success in Obama's future; but it doesn't sell so easily, so fewer people are selling it. ---GET MONEY for Being ONLINE as 1 of Us FREE, writing about Movie Ideas, a 'Hot' Atheist, Movies, Divine Art~

More hooplah from the media

More hooplah from the media and Hollywood celebrities? Please...either put down the pipe, or pass it! The media comparisons between Obama and Lincoln are entirely laughable. These two men are in no way comparable, yet we have been force-fed continual BS about the similarities between the two of them. Other than the fact that they both came to Washington from Illinois, they are utterly diametrical to one another. However, that doesn't stop the pathetic media sycophancy. Now I don't doubt that there are many people who voted for Obama or are excited about his presidency because he is bi-racial. But the media is excited because he epitomizes everything that they have been trying to sell to the public for decades. That's why they have refused to touch this guy. He makes them look good. He makes them look right. He makes them look smart - to the ignorant masses, that is. Those who know better see all of this as a great fraud perpetrated on the American People. Hopefully the mob will come to their senses before things really turn sour. Who is Publius? Join Xomba and get PAID to write - CLICK HERE!

Statist - One who believes

Statist - One who believes in government supremacy over the People. (My definition) And I'm not so sure about him not making "insane choices." Have you seen some of his cabinet appointments? Who is Publius? Join Xomba and get PAID to write - CLICK HERE!

Not Sure of the Meaning of "Statist"

I'm not sure whether you mean 'one who believes that the government is the source of solving power' (or something to that effect), or if 'one who thinks the individual states should have the final say ... the political opposite of a Federalist.' The 'team-names' don't matter that much to me; I just voted for him because he's less-likely to make insane choices. ---GET MONEY for Being ONLINE as 1 of Us FREE, writing about Movie Ideas, a 'Hot' Atheist, Movies, Divine Art~

I often wonder...

...if that was the reason many people had for voting for Obama, which is a shame but at least it wasn't McCain that got his sleekit wee claws on the US. Subscribe to XHellcatX's Xombytes

Disagree

I believe if he were a Republican there would be even MORE hooplah. They would be tying Lincoln and Obama on the "they are both Republican" line. The media would be talking about how this marks a new direction for the Republican party and blah, blah, blah. Being in DC myself today I can tell you that the people here that I have talked to that are going down there could give a [img_assist|nid=253482|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=64] that Obama is a Democrat. Simply they are going because he is black. That being said, there is a sense of "thank god we are done with Bush" that I think is adding to the festivities.
