If Not Solar Energy, Prepare Yourselves for Endless Conflicts

If your state or your country has tax rebate and tax credit on solar power then that is great for you. Solar power is the way to go because it is clean energy and all of us want a clean environment.

It is true the initial cost is high but imagine living in a state where you produce solar electricity during the day and you sell that power to the national grid? Your electricity meter will in essence be moving backward.

And now, I believe, it's the time to earn more by applying for carbon credit. To reduce carbon and greenhouse gasses emissions thus mitigating global warming, is Kyoto Protocol. Kyoto Protocol is an agreement between countries which provide mechanisms to reduce greenhouse effect emissions on an industrial scale by capping total emissions and letting the free market assign a monetary value to any shortfall through trading. This is where you make money at the same time providing the planet earth with a clean environment.

I agree that if you are fortunate to live in a state or country where they encourage solar power, then you should have the entire roof made of solar panels. And still when we are on this let your building planner add a system that will allow you to do some rain water harvesting.

These things have to be done because man has refused to control the population of humans and it is now becoming clear that the resources on planet earth are limited.

If we do not do that then man should prepare himself for endless conflict with his fellow man, and animals, and severe weather, and extreme and enless poverty.

1. That's true. Carbon

1. That's true. Carbon dioxide is a "greenhouse" gas. 2. I wouldn't really say it's "unprecedented." Humans contribute about 3% of the annual global CO2 emissions. But that does not mean we contribute 3% to the "greenhouse" effect. That figure is only accurate if we exclude water vapor. If water vapor is included in the analysis, then humans only contribute about 1/4 of 1% of the total "greenhouse" effect. Of course that's only theoretically. There is no definitive evidence that our contributions are in fact causing any warming. 3. The Earth is actually not getting hotter every day. It hasn't gotten hotter in several years. In fact, over the last decade, global temperatures have shown essentially no net increase. And we are learning that the ice in Antarctica is in fact increasing. Guess what else...the Arctic Ocean's ice has not disappeared like many have suggested it would. Yet, for some reason, decreasing carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere has not been the cause. The rest of your comment is conjecture and hyperbole. But I do agree that we are running into some problems concerning natural resources. However, blaming them on "global warming" only hurts our efforts to actually solve the problems. Instead of "scientists" and governments manipulating or distorting facts - or simply lying - they ought to be working on real solutions to the real problems. "Anthropogenic global warming" is nonsense. Water shortages are not. Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

Endless Conflicts Over Resources

I am sorry to you, Publius, if I did not make this clear. However, it should not be difficult to understand that: 1. Carbon dioxide, along with other gasses, traps heat in the Earth's atmosphere. 2. We Humans are pumping unprecedented amounts of carbon gasses into the Earth's atmosphere by use of carbon generating energy. 3. Every day the planet earth is getting hotter and ice fields are disappearing, all increasingly in line with the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. If by using the clean solar power will reduce the emission of carbon gases into the Earth’s atmosphere by just 1%, then one should not be ashamed to say so to mankind. Seriously though, Global warming and Climate Change is having severe consequences for water availability, flooding, drought, landslides, food and energy. It should be easy to see that adverse weather conditions are threatening the livelihoods of man as he competes for natural resources. The result is endless conflicts over resources which have huge loss of lives. Did you know that more than 90% of all human conflicts have something to do with weather? It may be a country fighting another country over oil, it might be people fighting over who is an illegal alien and migrants, people fighting over water, people fighting over grazing land, people fighting over firewood, etc., etc. Certainly, installing solar panels will not stop wars, stop killing of animals, stop having severe weather, and end poverty all by itself alone because many other factors will have to come in the equation. ------------------------------- My Page is designed to help my readers make a few more dollars online – details of which you can find in My Profile Here, if you will.

So, all we need to do to

So, all we need to do to stop wars, stop killing animals, stop having severe weather, and end poverty is to install solar panels on the roof of our homes? That's brilliant! Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

Wind Power is Clean Energy

Thank you, Joseph. Wind power is clean energy and if you have space and strong winds to generate wind power then that is good. I believe the Netherlands is very successful in wind power generation. To those who live between 30˚ N and 30˚S, the best option is solar power because they have sufficient sun's energy throughout the year but unfortunately the strength of winds in that zone is small ranging between 0 knots and 15 knots. To those who lives north of 30˚ N and south of 30˚S, the best option is Wind energy as the winds are strong ranging between 10 knots and 40 knots. In that zone, the sun energy may not be sufficient throughout the year. And a big “thanks you” to the people of Portland, Oregon, for maintaining the greenest city in America. Unfortunately when it comes to the issue of the environment we do not have boundaries. When the situations become unbearable in Washington State the only logical thing for humans to do is to move to Oregon ready for any confrontation with the guys in Oregon. _______________________________________ My Page is designed to help my readers make a few more dollars online – details of which you can find in My Profile Here, if you will.

Rain Water & Solar Power & Wind Power - Welcome to Oregon!

I'm curious why you did not mention wind-power? Our state has been tuned to building a better plan for the planet for over 30 years. You, know, Portland, Oregon, is the greenest city in America, and I'm not talking about the trees. What I would like to see and support is a law which deports folks who do not follow the Oregon agenda. I think, upon conviction, immediate deportation to Washington State. Washington can tax the hell out of them, and they can throw crap every place, cans out the windows, wrappers on the street, dirty diapers, the whole bag of trash. It's amazing the difference between Oregon and other places in America. If you liked this posting why not go to the YELLOW BOX at the top right of this piece and vote -- thank you.
