Ignorance, Knowledge, Honor, Duty, and Hell (Random Thoughts)

Ignorance, Knowledge, Honor, Duty, and Hell (Random Thoughts)

It has been said that "Ignorance is bliss", I disagree.
I have always sought knowledge. From the time when I was young I have wanted to know how things worked and why people do what they do. I still ask the questions, but now the answers bring me less joy.

It has also been said that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". I have learned that most people believe that they are good, but I have seen so called "Good People" rationalize and justify unspeakable evil, and as a result over time I have learned to see the world in darker shades of gray.

All knowledge is power, and it is in our application of this power that we define ourselves. Power and strength bring freedom, the freedom to do as we should, or to do otherwise.

This freedom brings us a responsibility to use our power ethically. It is the ethical responsibility of those whom posses the knowledge, the power, the strength, and the freedom to respect those who are less endowed with any or all of these characteristics.

It is the duty of the strong to protect the weak, even against those who are stronger. Sometimes doing ones duty feels like standing naked and alone on a beach, trying to hold back the tide.

I live my life by a code of honor,
I do the best I can, but can it ever be enough?
Will I ever know if it is?

Power pass

I like the idea of passing the power on or paying it forward. Brought on a very nice feeling when I read that...Hmmm...Could it be? Is it true? It's the po-wer of love... Pssst... Pass it on! I dare ya...c'mon you know you want to...Smile! MJ

I like Random Thoughts

They are my friend. Random thoughts are with me everyday, just about every moment. Sometimes I have to watch TV or read a book, just so I will stop thinking! Your thoughts are very good ones. I dare ya...c'mon you know you want to...Smile! MJ

Ignorance IS Bliss if You're Ignorant of the Ignorance

But--if there's something you KNOW that you SHOULD know but DON'T know yet--hearing of the knowledge is painful; Example: How to reconcile music's unreasonable passions & academia's logical demands (or 'how to-deserve a spouse, -get the woman, -get the man, -earn the money, etc.') Knowledge IS Power, but not until you convert it into useful energy. ('Knowledge is power' like water is power.) If you have 'power' (in whatever form it may be), your "duty" is to use 'prosperously' (i.e. in such a way that its use continues indefinitely).... in short, Give the power the way you got the power ("Pay It Forward"); you only 'take' it to 'pass it on.' ---Uncle MythMan of the Professional Friends who GET MONEY for Echoing the Universe (the Wonderful World Above & the Beauty Amidst)
