Illegal Aliens: A Simple Solution

Illegal Aliens: A Simple Solution

Does everyone understand what the phrase “illegal immigration” means? It’s important to define what an illegal immigrant is for the sake of this article. Any person, who crosses our borders without doing so at an official checkpoint so that they may purposefully avoid presentation of legal U.S. documents of citizenship, is breaking the law. An immigrant, who remains in this country longer than their government documents allow, is also breaking the law. It’s very simple and has nothing to do with morals or ethics; it’s a matter of law.

There are numerous arguments about what should be done with the illegal aliens that reside in our country. Some people believe that these people are beneficial to our nation’s economic and societal growth. Others will point to the fact that illegal immigrants contribute to the bankruptcy of hospitals and deteriorating conditions of public schools or other government-funded social programs. In both instances, there is one common problem: these people do not rightfully belong here.

Let’s start at the source of our issue. To prevent illegal border crossings, it would make sense to have control over our borders. Having a wall or fence sounds completely reasonable to most Americans. As a sovereign nation, we have a right to defend our borders and protect our citizens from invasion. It has nothing to do with whether or not illegal immigrants are good, hard-working people. It is a question of national security and the rule of law. If you violate federal law by entering our country illegally, you should not have access to the rights and protections guaranteed to legal citizens.

To further prevent foreigners from breaking our immigration laws, we must stop the habits that attract them. Employers must be criminally prosecuted and fined for hiring illegal aliens. Their continued contribution to identity theft needs to cease immediately. Social benefits extended to these illegal aliens should also be stopped. There is no reason why people who do not pay taxes should be allowed to receive tax-funded services. If employers are deterred from hiring illegal workers, and the workers are not able to find jobs or collect government welfare of any sort, then eventually, the problem will correct itself.

After the previous problems are addressed, what do we do with the illegal aliens already here? The answer is simple: deport them. Every person who is in this country illegally should be deported as soon as possible. If they have had children since they’ve been here, the children should go with the parents. No amnesty should be given, and all assets acquired while working illegally should be forfeited. When drug dealers are convicted, their assets are seized by the government because they were obtained while violating the law. The same equality should be applied when breaking immigration laws. Illegal aliens know they are breaking the law and there should be no double standards.

Don’t be fooled by the people who claim it is “inhumane” to enforce our laws. Promoting a permanent underclass is more detrimental to society than sending lawbreakers back to their country of origin. Convincing people that it’s better for entire families to die while trying to cross our borders, instead of trying to solve the problems within their own government, is completely absurd. Americans did not make the United States what it is today by leaving our country for someone else to fix.

Let’s use Mexico as an example of this foolishness.

It is estimated that we currently have between ten and twenty million illegal immigrants from Mexico living here. One would have to think there are probably millions more willing to break our laws and risk their lives making the journey into this country. The population of Mexico is just over 100 million. If these people are so concerned about their way of life, why don’t they stay in their own country and force changes? Why is it acceptable for them to break our laws and become a burden on our society? They would rather give up and let their country deteriorate than stand up to its leaders and fight for justice. These are not the kind of people I want for neighbors.

Mexico has the highest gross national income of all Latin American countries. They are the world’s largest producer of silver and a top five producer of oil. They are a member of the World Trade Organization and have a dozen trade agreements with nations around the globe. They also happen to have a flourishing tourism industry. Mexico is not a poor, third-world country. It is poorly governed. Our leadership in government needs to stop being complicit in its demise by allowing the Mexican working-class to illegally enter our country. Mexicans need not look for a way to escape their government; they need to look for a way to take control of it.

There is no reason lawful United Sates citizens should feel guilty for wanting to enforce our laws. There’s no reason illegal aliens from any country should be allowed to continue breaking our laws. We can find a simple solution to a complicated problem. Control the borders, prosecute criminal employers, deport illegal aliens, and educate the uneducated. There is no logic behind encouraging unlawful activity, especially when it is not beneficial to either party. If our immigration laws are constantly allowed to be violated, we will all lose. Sooner or later, we will be the ones looking for a better country to call home.

Idle, I appreciate your

Idle, I appreciate your comments. When I said deport the illegals, I didn't mean for the government to go out there and start a massive search and deport mission. But when these illegal aliens are discovered they should be deported. Instead, they are given a court date for whatever law they've broken and they never show up. Or if they are discovered by the S.S. administration using a fake S.S. number, a letter is sent to the employer that the number is invalid, but no action is ever taken to get rid of them. If these people are discovered and deported and if employers were prosecuted for hiring them, it would help out a lot. We already have agencies to do this but they aren't allowed to do their job. As far as low wages...the reason they're low is because the workers are illegal and the employers can get away with it. If they are forced to hire legal workers and they have to pay them more, so be it. I don't think low prices in the produce department justify breaking our federal laws. Personally, I don't subscribe to the theory that all our produce prices will greatly increase. Farmers will find a way through technology to keep prices reasonable. They've done it before. I don't think you're giving them enough credit.

By the by, did anyone miss me? I still find it terribly ironic that people leave stupid comments on a guy's xombyte who wrote a xombyte about stupid comments.

Gimme a cattle prod and a list, Idle, I'll start kicking some people out anytime.

I'm an immigrant.

Definitely not simple

Supposedly there are over 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. If Pub. wants to kick all of them and their children out, that's probably at least 15 mill. What govt agency are you going to pull resources from to hunt down and evict all these people--Homeland Security? FBI? State police? Local police? Nothing simple about that. Everyone blames the immigrants themselves but they don't address the other ILLEGAL part of the equation--the employers who are all too happy to break the law to save money on their payroll. Pub. touches on this, but only briefly. The immigrants come because they know someone will pay them to work. The govt needs to start putting some real penalties on employers for hiring illegals, then immigrants will have less incentive to come in. I don't think you're going to find any American youth who are going to do the jobs many of these illegals do--unless they're in jail and are forced to do it. They're dirty, dangerous jobs (often illegally dangerous) that pay illegally low wages. So if all the illegals are deported, get ready to pay higher prices for foods, housecleaning, etc., since the replacements will have to be paid more than the sub-minimum wages the illegals were paid.

A day without a mexican is a fantasy film

We should make the "mexican" work available to our disenfranchised youth. Maybe this would instill values and curb drug use and gang participation. We don't need mexicans or anyone else, save for the people who come here legally and on the books. I think aliens should have a rifle put in their hands as soon as they enter the country and be given a choice. Go off to the "front" and fight for the USA and become a citizen or be deported. Also, people who say white people this and white people that should be the last ones to say others are lumping a whole group together. Actualy it is they who are the racists.

Obviously

LadyPeninhand Yeah, obviously..... No problem.....

Well, then I'm sorry, Lady.

Well, then I'm sorry, Lady. I just get tired of all the stupid comments. I guess I figured the comment section was for constructive criticism, or at least a little humor. And I'm not flying off the handle, I'm just done trying to explain this article to cmofi...she obviously lacks comprehension skills.

Publius.....my, how

LadyPeninhand easily you fly off the handle...it so happened that I agreed with most all of your comments. I was simply blah, blah, blah-ing, at how blah, blah, blah this argument is.... "Never argue with an idiot, blah, blah, blah..." (Sorry Mark...didn't mean to butcher your quote...but blah, blah, blah!! ;)

I'm sorry, cmofi. You have

I'm sorry, cmofi. You have missed every point I've made. There's nothing more for me to say. You're right, I shouldn't argue with idiots. So, you, LadyPen, Antonia...find another Xombyte and leave your comments there.
