Incredible Prosthetic Technology + Human Spirit = Blade Runner

Oscar Pistorius is a South African man who was born with a congenital condition which left him with no fibulas in both legs.

More recently he has won the right to compete in track and field events this summer in an attempt to qualify for the Beijing Olympics after it was determined in January that he had an "advantage" over "able bodied" athletes. He has set records in the Paralympic 100, 200, and 400 meter sprints.

It is absolutely incredible and awe inspiring to see this man run with his carbon fibre transtibial artificial limbs. It is almost like watching some science fiction, futuristic type scene. It is as if seeing a combination of man and machine but real - not a computer enhanced video.

Oscar Pistorius gives a whole new meaning to the term "disabled"...He is an inspiration to those of us born with all of our parts, and no doubt to those who may have the same congenital disorder or one like it.
