India as top exporter to Bangladesh
posted June 30, 2008 - 9:17pmIndia has regained its position as the number one import source for Bangladesh, beating china, in the first nine month of the financial year ending June 30, according to official figures. This is mainly due to large scale imports of rice and onion from India after Bangladesh faced series of natural
calamities last year. Bangladesh bank’s figures showed the country imported Chinese goods worth $2.292 billion during July-march of the current fiscal year that ends this month end. But imports from India figured $2.454 billion or 16% of overall imports.
