Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls:-This picturesque picnic spot is situated 2km away from Kumarakom. The ringing streams running through the landscapes and roaring waters as they fall down the mountains from a height of 100 feet riches the scenic beauty of the spot.
Pathiramanal (sands of midnight):-This Charismatic island on the Vembanad Lake is accessed by boat from Kumarakom. This 10 acre island is home to many rare found varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world. Boat cruising in Kettuvallams (traditional houseboats of Kerala) round the islands is the best way to spot them.
Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary:- The 14-acre bird sanctuary in Kumarakom, located in banks of the Vembanad Lake is a preferred haunt of migratory birds such as Egrets, Darters, Night Herons, lone golden-backed Woodpeckers, Teals and Siberian Storks. Along with the migratory birds you also get a chance to view native kingfishers in vivacious colors. Parrots, teal, larks, flycatchers, wood beetle, and other birds are also seen here during their respective migratory seasons.
