Ingredients:
1. Medium sized Tomatoes 3 Nos.
2. Chilly powder 1/2 teaspoon. Coriander powder 1 Teaspoon
4. Pepper powder 1½ teaspoon
5. Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
6. Garlic 4 nos.
7. Edible Oil 1 tablespoon
8. Red chilly 2
Nos.
9. Mustard seeds ½ teaspoon
10.Curry leaves 1 stem
11. Coriander leaves few.
12-Salt As per taste
13. Asafoetida powder ½ teaspoon
Preparation:-
First boil the cut tomatoes in adequate water and on boiling add the powders and garlic mentioned at item 1 to 6 and again allow to boil the liquid once agin. keep it seperately.Splutter mustard seeds in oil, and add dry red chilly and curry leaves. Pour this to the boiled tomatoe soup already prepared. Finally pour the soup into a server pan and add required coriander leaves. Rasam is ready to be served hot..
This is an excellent soup to be used as an appetizer. this is also served at the end of the meals as gravy. Rasam is also taken as such . It enhances appetite and accelerate the digestive process. It can be taken even by sick people since it is easy to digest .
