Inexpensive ways to enjoy Hawaii

Inexpensive ways to enjoy Hawaii

Since I have moved here to beautiful Oahu, I have been asked how we manage to afford such an expensive place to live. I have found that since I moved here, I have certainly changed the way I spend and plan activities. But we live here. So, are there ways for vacationers to save a little when coming to Hawaii? Well of course there is!

First things first. Buying your ticket(s). I have found that using bookingbuddy.com can certainly help in a big way when shopping for airline tickets. Bookingbuddy.com allows you to check prices on Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline etc. all on one site. As long as you are not booking a flight for an unaccompanied minor, sites like this can help you save hundreds of dollars on fares.

Planning ahead. Always give yourself a six month window when you can to seek out the least expensive times to travel. If you are not restricted to major holidays when ticket sales are highest, you may find that planning your trip in the off season can save you big!

Package deals. Unless you know me or someone else in Oahu that wouldn't mind putting you up for a bit, buying a pakage like hotel +flight or hotel + flight + car rental helps shave dollars off up to  three individual bills by packaging them up in a bundle deal.

Know your location. If you know where you want to go when you visit Oahu, take the time to navigate through Mapquest or Google Maps to learn the general area of where you are staying and where you want to go. If you are staying in Waikiki but need to get to the North Shore, familiarizing yourself with street names and Highways will minimize your risk of getting lost and wasting a lot of gas! Or if you need to take a cab, knowing the area will help minimize getting the run around that  costs YOU!

It costs HOW MUCH? Eating out is one of the most expensive things on a trip. Don't limit yourself to room service or fast food joints. Head on down to a Loco Moco or an L & L Drive Inn for some local cuisine! You get great food that is well portioned at a great price!

Having FUN. Just like any other State that attracts a lot of tourists, finding something to do that isn't outrageously priced is hard to find, unless you know where to look. Helloooo, this is Hawaii baby! Any beach here is free for you to enjoy. See priceless sunrises and sunsets with no out of pocket expense. For the price of some snorkelling gear you can spend an entire afternoon checking out the beautiful sealife here in Oahu. For site seeing and exercise, there are plenty of places to get your Hike on!

Of course there are other things to do here that costs a little bit, but with all the money you will save using these methods to cut costs, you are sure to have plenty left over for a Traditional Hawaiian Dinner and Hula Show or anything else that tickles your fancy!

So enjoy and start planning that vacation TODAY!!!!

Look for more inexpensive ways to enjoy Hawaii coming soon!
