Inherited Wisdom
posted August 13, 2006 - 9:27pmmy grandfather conveyed to me a long time ago
it is the smart ones that learn from their mistakes
but the wise that learn from others
Alas, I stare out my window,
observing the world's blunders
as the rejuvenating sky thunders
regardless of how grey the clouds may be
everything clears up eventually
Thus, I embrace the present but live for the future
omnipotent, because Time keeps no secrets
but it does not heal, because I will always remember
playing back the memories
found myself at the epicenter of an epidemic, horrors and relics of Lenin
On Earth as in………
the iconoclasts have destroyed all images of heaven
Sought redemption as I gluttonized sweet tasting poison
my blood spilt and I drowned in the Burgundy
too frivolous at the moment,
every moment,
so Im looking to hitchhike with anyone heading toward eternity
caught a ride, Route 66
now Im going in the wrong direction with 7 degrees of uncertainty
prayed for advice but I think they sensed my edginess
so the others whispered misleading hints
that appeared so easy and came with great haste
but what I seek is righteous
so I continue to hold my breath
in the meantime, surrounded by those that Love me
but I know sometimes Love is cold as death
one can be dumb, deaf, and blind
but still understand, hear, and see
because Destiny reveals itself in all sizes and shapes
see life is a circle, loves a triangle, and revenge is square
but nowadays they don’t care
enslaved in cubicles, there is no justice, because everyone gets punished
we are more dead then alive
you can be a criminal, catch a case and do 5 to 9
you can be educated, catch a job and do a 9 to 5
pardon,
yes pardon my shortsightedness for not seeing a difference
but McDonaldization, globalization, this cultural homogenization
has my vision all blurry
nothing technology can't fix it has broken
the coming together of every entity
is what led me,
to have metaphor eyed image that looked simile to my mirror reflection
now Im lying to myself and can't stand the deception
those with inherited wisdom have a duty to do something great
but procrastinate not, for its too late
it takes a lifetime to live out your destiny
but a single breath to change your fate
