Is "Batman" A "Dark Knight" in Real Life?

According to this news report, Christian Bale, the actor who plays Batman in the latest Hollywood box office hit, was questioned for allegedly having assaulted his mother and sister in a London Hotel. Now, is that a true Super hero or just a "Dark Knight" in real life?
