I dont think sachin is a great player.. "like what imran khan once said, sachin doesnt have the technique of sunny (though i wont accept this) nor the flamboyance of azhar".. sachin is not as prolific as lara when it comes to getting big hundereds and batting a an opposition out of the match..he doesnt have the power of a hayden to whack the ball out off the stadium...he doesnt have the temperment of dravid to grind the opposition...he doesnt have the sweet timing of ganguly or a gower...so how can we call him as a great batsman????

Even bradman for that matter.. he was not as aggressive as a wally hammond or as graceful as jack hobbs or WC Grace.. and he never played great ariel shots.. he is more of a boundary player..so even bradman is not great...

so then what do we call sachin and bradman????they are legends... cricket wouldnot ve been so popular had it not been for these two greats.. today bcci is the richest board.. the reason plainly is sachin.. he was the one who took the game to the nook and corner of our country..he gave a new dimension to a game... he redifined cricket in india.. indians wanted him to score even if we loose the match..no other player in the world in any sport is considered as bigger than the sport itself.. but sachin was considered bigger than the game.. and out of this 2 lac 50k people in this community atlest a lac people will stop watching the game once he hangs his boots... this is a material of a legend.. i dont know if bradman played today he can create such a hype and craze...such is sachin's charisma..now coming to his game...he is not always as poweful as hayden, but when needed, he can do much bigger pyro techniques.. i doubt if hayden can come down to mc grath and hit him outside the park.. but sachin did it.. he has done something which even hayden cant do.. so sachin can play like hayden, but the otherway round is not possible...ya sachin is not as demolishing as lara is, but when situiation demands, he can even go one step ahead.. who can forget his perth innnings on the worlds fastest pitch.. sachin came into bat and after tht india scored 140 runs of which sachin scored 114 runs.. i dont think lara can do such a thing...sachin can play like lara, but the otherway round is not possible...ya sachin doesnot have the temperment of dravid.. but when situiation demands he can go one step ahead.. who can forget his subdued and fighting innings of 136 against pak.. or his 241* when he completely cut down a few shots.. and showed his grit..sachin can play like dravid but the other way round is not possible...sachin doesnot always time the ball like gower or ganguly, he hits them hard most of the time with a meaty bat..

but at times he times the so well tht a defensive shot races past the boundary.. (where as ganguly used to glide the ball).. sachin can play like dada or a gower, but the other way is not possible..sachin has every shot in the book.. and huh.. the book is too old now.. tht he has added a lot more shots to the book of cricket... he has almost 4 shots to anykind of ball.. he is equllay adept at handling spin and fast bowling.. he scored runs in every part of the world.. And ya... in a cricket field he can do something which others cant even dream about.. he can bowl medium pace and can swing the ball both ways, he can bowl off spin, leg spin, flipper, googly and a wrong one... infact he would ve been the first bowler in the history of the game while bowling the scorecard will show sachin (right arm offspin, medium, legspin)..and above all stats.. i think i dont need to dwell on tht point.. and all this after numerous wrong decisions going against him.. with all this, still his enthusiasm and passion for the.. The above mentioned are few of the ingredients for becoming a legend..(and i have missed more than half of his other great traits).. now the question is can someone else become even half as great as sachin?.. hmmm i guess i dont need to give an answer for this question..
