It's Rummage Sale Day!

I had such a hard time falling asleep last night.  I get so excited and giddy, like a young schoolgirl the night before my rummage sale day.  I only got about five hours of sleep after a long day yesterday setting up the sale.  Despite my lack of sleep I woke up to my cell phone alarm clock ready for the day.

After showering, brewing some coffee, and eating breakfast I headed outside to greet the warm morning.  It was 6:45 a.m.  I uncovered all of the tables which I had put tarps over the day before, then re-organized all of my items for sale.  I took a seat at my sales person table and did a quick check; calculator- check, pen and paper- check, tape and extra tags- check, cash box- check.  I then started to sip on my coffee and waited patiently for my first customers to arrive.

7:15 a.m.  A car full of four people started to unload in my driveway, I was so excited as the group approached the sale.  "Good morning, how are you today?" I asked.  "Great," they replied and we continued to have a nice conversation as they browsed through all of my items.  When they started filling their arms with my unwanted things I though "Yay!"

The group slowly started heading towards my table and I started removing tags, bagging up items, and finally adding up the customer's totals.  Once we said our "goodbyes" I realized I had just mad $25.00 in just 20 minutes.  I was so thankful for the immediate profit; also I was thankful to get rid of so many items we no longer had any need for.  As I sipped my coffee some more I watched the gorgeous sun perk up higher in the sky.  I felt the warmth on my cheeks. As two more cars pulled into the driveway I though to myself "this is going to be a great day!"
