I like the Jack Ryan movies. The character of Jack Ryan was created by author Tom Clancy, who writes fictional espionage and military books.

My old man has quite a few of these books and I've tried reading them but I'd much rather watch the Jack Ryan movies because the books are really detailed and way over my head.

I've seen all 4 Jack Ryan movies and here's how I rate them from my favorite to least favorite.

1. Clear and Present Danger(1994) - This is my absolute favorite Jack Ryan movie. Jack Ryan, played by Harrison Ford, fights Colombian drug cartels as the head of the CIA.

2. Patriot Games(1992) - This is the first time Harrison Ford plays Jack Ryan and I think of the three actors that played Jack, Ford is the best.

3. The Hunt For Red October(1990) - This is the first Jack Ryan movie and stars Alec Baldwin as Jack. Sean Connery also stars in this movie as the Captain of a submarine. Red October was directed by the same guy who made Die Hard.

4. A Sum of all Fears - This is my least favorite Jack Ryan movie and stars the 3rd of three guys to play Jack Ryan, Ben Affleck. To say the least, I hated this movie, although I liked the scene where the plane blows up and Morgan Freeman in it.

A 5th Jack Ryan movie is in production called Without Remorse. I hope this one is better than A Sum of All Fears, cause I really enjoy the Jack Ryan movies.
