I had a great time jailbreaking my ipod touch. I was nervous at first because I had just spent over $400 and was unsure about the process and how safe it was. Some things that I had read on the internet said that it could freeze your ipod and it would never work again, the thought of being out $400 bucks didn't sit easy with me. After talking to some friends at work about what I was contemplating doing to my Itouch, they said I should go for it. My friend Jason said,"Dude, you can just go on Youtube and watch step-by-step videos on how to do it." So that night, before I decided to go through with it I did some more research on the benefits of Jailbreaking my itouch. The main thing that made my decision easy was being able to install and run all of the iphone apps on my itouch. I have a .mac account and write emails all the time, being able to access my .mac email account through a MAIL app on my itouch would alone be worth the risk. Not to mention all the other cool apps that the iphone has, including Google maps and hundreds of other apps that you can install through the INSTALLER app that comes with the jailbreak.

The process was really easy and anyone that can follow recipes in a cookbook could do it. I suggest going on youtube and searching for videos about jailbreaking your ipod touch. Some videos are better than others so just watch a few and pick the one that you can best understand. Jailbreaking my ipod touch took about an hour(thats going really slow,making sure not to make mistakes)but i'm sure could be done much quicker. One tip that I have for someone jailbreaking there ipod touch would be to make sure you have a wifi connection at your house(or a friends)when you go start the process because you will need your itouch to have a wifi connection to download some things through safari. You will also need a computer to hook your itouch to.

I love my Ipod touch now better than ever and jailbreaking it felt like i brought it to life. I had lots of fun doing it and it made me feel like some genius computer hacker. I hope that this article helps others make the decision to unlock there Ipod touch and have lots of fun doing it. When your done you will end up with an Iphone without the phone(no one likes At&t anyway)and no monthly bill to pay.
