New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will be able to watch Seinfeld before the team's big game against the Green Bay Packers after all ... thanks to an intervention by Jerry Seinfeld himself.

Manning likes to watch Seinfeld reruns on TV before big games, and so a Green Bay, Wisconsin TV station that runs Seinfeld decided to pull the episode scheduled to air on the day before the big game between the Giants and Packers (the station said it had its viewers had voted on which show to use to replace the Seinfeld episode).

Jerry Seinfeld heard about the station's action and stepped up to help out his hometown team's quarterback. "I'm going to send Eli a complete collection of 'Seinfeld' DVDs and a partial collection of 'Hogan's Heroes' for inspiration," Seinfeld told the New York Post.

Eli Manning had the last laugh on the Green Bay TV station though... he says he already owns the entire Seinfeld video collection.
