Jesse Jackson Uses N-word To Describe Blacks
The Reverend Jesse Jackson was caught using the N-word when criticizing presidential candidate Barack Obama. The incident occurred on July 6 when Jackson was taping the show Fox and Friends for later broadcast. During an off-air session, Jackson said that Obama has been talking down to black people and used the N-word when referring to blacks.
The thing that bothers me is that if a non-black, or specifically a white person, said something like this, there would be hue and cry heard throughout the country. Blacks would unite and call for the person to be fired. The media would fan the flames of the issue and everyone would cry out racism and demand punishment. But when a "brother" says it, it's all right?
When it's Jesse Jackson who makes racist remarks, what happens? Barely a peep. Where is Al Sharpton and why isn't he castigating his friend in public? Where are the protests? Why are there legions of people protesting in front of Jackson's office demanding his resignation? An insult is an insult, regardless of who says it, right?
Oh, and this is not the first time Jackson has been a racist. For those of you too young to remember, it was 1984 when Jackson used an insulting word to refer to Jews living in New York. But some how, some way, he gets away with this totally unacceptable behavior.
Is there racism in America? No doubt about it. But is there equality in how racism is dealt with? No! As any minority will tell you (me, included) it's all right for one minority to call another a racist name. But if a white person does it, then all hell breaks loose.
Come on people!!! Racist comments are racist comments. If Don Imus can be crucified in the media for what he said, Jesse Jackson should get the same if not worse treatment because he knows what it is like to be called the N-word and should be more sensitive. The hypocrisy just kills me.

Somewhere along the line it
Somewhere along the line it became somewhat acceptable for any member of a group to use derogatory language when referring to his/her own people. A gay person can get away with using the f-word (you know the one I mean, a Jewish person can get away with a Jewish joke...etc.
What makes Jackson all the more a hypocrite is that he is on record as chastising African Americans for using the n-word.
